The Birthday Boy
Thomas Wyatt was one year old on Friday, June 6th. I cannot believe it has been a whole year since we brought him home from the hospital and mom and dad had me come and stay a few days to help out.
He loves Elmo and so everything for his birthday had an Elmo theme. Nanna Juju made two cakes. One for the grownups and one for him for his very own and some Elmo cupcakes, too.
He has come so far in a year. He is not only walking but running.
He could not believe that he could just dig into the cake and he had icing all over the place and all over him. We had to stand him in the sink and almost hose him down!
Later, Mom and Dad went for a much needed evening out and Thomas Wyatt spent the night with me. If you have ever seen that Ever-ready rabbit on tv that just keeps going and going, he cannot hold a candle to TW hyped up on sugar from a birthday cake! He can run circles around that rabbit.
Finally, he just conked out and slept eleven hours.
I think the birthday boy really enjoyed his day, his cake, his presents, and spending the night at Nanna's house.

What a nice birthday party. He is so cute. Before you turn around twice, he will be graduating from high school. It seems like yesterday that my 22 year old grandson was tiny. Cherish each day and each moment. I know you will! Clara
Hi Judy! Love the new blog. I always get a smile on my face when you comment on my blog so I went to the old blog and realized you moved! Hope to see you soon.
Whitney!
Hey Mom,
Great Post! I'll be sending you the pics we got here in a few days.
Love,
Rob
The one thing I love looking at are the pictures of the grandkids attacking their first birthday cake....even have some of my kids....funny how any other time we say, don't touch that cake, and when they turn one we turn them loose....LOL He is adorable.....and I'm sure you enjoy him....my Sammy turned one in Feb. and I posted pictures of him attacking his cake.....I see you call yourself nanna juju.... it reminds me of my Meggie and Ali, they use to call me grandma judy....kool, but their other grandma's name was Jo and they called her grandma judyjo....and for years she was grandma judyjo... and she didn't mind one bit.....LOL ... gonna go watch "So you think you can dance" now...
Hi Judy - He really is gorgeous, they are 'so' cute at that age - there are times in the teenage years when you wish they could return to being 'wee' mind you you would miss being a Gran, Grandma, Granny or Nana ..... and I must admit that that is 'the' most fantastic stage of life...
He is a beautiful boy, and the pictures are so cute! check out my blog on Saturday, and see my youngest grandchild. - thanks for visiting my blog. I love your taste in music, and was thrilled with your last post, on the butterflies. - I don't think I've ever met anyone from KY. Nice to know you.
Hello Judy glad you found my blog.
The very mention of Kentucky send my heart jumping. My sisters and I have traced our family to Mercer co. Ky. and we love everything about Ky.
The baby is so cute eating cake.
Thomas Wyatt is such a cutie! And I love your Elmo cakes--looks like the birthday boy liked them, too!
Wonderful pictures, Judy.
Wyatt is adorable!
Elmo everywhere, even on his cake.
What a great birthday!!!
