This past Saturday night we moved the clocks back an hour. Last night at 6:30 p.m. it had been dark for 30 minutes. I was half asleep at the computer and it was nowhere near bedtime.
I spent at least 30 minutes running all my clocks back. (I would have to love clocks)
There is at least one clock in every room including bathrooms, laundry room and the garage.
I had my dinner at 4:30 because I was starving!
Benjamin Franklin wrote the proverb: Early to bed, Early to rise, Makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise. By the time I adjust to the time change, (going to bed at six and getting up at 3 a.m.), I should not have any aches or pains, I might win the lottery, and those senior moments will have disappeared into the night. Do you think the proverb only works on men?
My electric bill will go up because I have to burn the lights a longer period of time......
I will probably do more snacking in the middle of the night because I will wake up around 9 p.m. hungry since I ate at 4:30.
I'll miss all the prime time shows on t.v. !
I'll be commenting on blogs at 4 a.m. in the morning.
I just remembered I did not change the clock on the car!
Am I the only one that has a hard time adjusting to time changes???????

No - you certainly are not the only one that has a difficult time adjusting to the time change. I was up at 5:00 a.m. this morning. My mind told me it was 5 but my body told me it was 6.
Sweetie
Judy I relate to you in every way. I am always being kidded about going to bed so early and getting up early. Well now I guess I will be going to bed at 6:30 and waking up 3:30. I am a morning person. But not a middle of the night person. Just when we get use to the time change and become more normal it will change again.
Thanks for the comment on Buddy.
Have a great day.
I do better in the fall than in the spring when we set the clocks back. About two hours after it turns dark, I'm ready to hit the hay. Now that time comes earlier. And since I am a morning person, I don't mind getting up early. Ol' Ben Franklin's proverb is very true for me.
P.S. I make Victorian-style clocks and am almost finished with the one I'm giving my mom for Christmas. I'll be sure to put a picture on my blog when it is finished.
Reading your post sounds just like what I would post. No you are definitely not alone. Funny about being tired and not bed time -- that is exactly how I felt!!!
I am not an early riser. I stay up late and like to sleep in. This was not always my habit but it's my habit now! So the time change hasn't been that difficult for me. I did manage to get all clocks changed, even the car!
In your previous post I have to say that Thomas Wyatt is one cute lion!!!
uh oh - You reminded me of the clock in the car. I, too, am eating at my body's time, not the clock's, and going to bed very early - and you have no idea how early that can be!
Hi Judy I get 'all muxed up with the clocks carry on every year too'. So I sympathise!
Love the new music - can't keep up though, it's making me type faster hehehe... I like trying to keep up with the tempo - Phew.....
Just love that sound though ...
Hi again Judy, I was having a read at your sidebar and noticed again that The Appalchian Dulcimer is the musical instrument for Kentucky, I had seen this before and meant to tell you that my husbands father used to play several instruments - among them the Dulcimer, He also made them and repaired them too. What is the difference in an Appalachian Dulcimer as compared to an ordinary one ?? Cheers Kate x.
P.S. I just HAD to comment on the turkey - he's hilarious ! Such a hoot !
We put our clocks back also and it do take time adjusting, Loved the blog as usual Judy, must get my new poem on site but am waiting for the photo.s Take care.
Yvonne.
Tht's a funny post and a lot of clocks you have. I think changing the time just leaves you feeling tired all the time. Well if we see any posts at 4am in the morning we will know you havent been able to sleep properly! Why do dthey have to meddle with these things, I just do not know. The children get affected the worst in terms of their sleep.
This is such a funny post! I'm glad you reminded me about the car clock!! Also, I've always used the quote "Early to bed, early to rise..." to my kids and never knew it was said by Ben Franklin...Thanks for the info!!! I always learn so much from you!!!
Judy, you are not alone. I am so mixed up...I thought yesterday was today. By the time I get used to this time, it will be time to move it forward again. Oh well, that's the way the ball bounces!
We've just been there done that too Judy. However where I am in Oz things are even more complicated.
I live within 5km of the New South Wales/Queensland border.
Problem is we in NSW put our clocks forward in summer and Qld leaves them untouched. Which means that we have families split in time zones - imagine Dad working on one side of the border and the kids and Mum on the other and you'll get what I mean.
We ALWAYS miss at least one appointment on the other side of the border before we get organised.
Some families work on one time, others on the other wherever they live, and depending on what suits them best.
Businesses put up notices saying 'this company works on Queensland time or ...' So you always ask do you work Qld or NSW before making a date about anything.
Some children in the one family can go to school in one time zone and some in the other. I won't continue but you get what I mean.
There's a half joke around that says Queensland won't change because they're worried the curtains will fade more if they do!
It's MURDER.
I tto have trouble when th clocks go back, as soon as it goes dark my body thinks its bed time, and I always eat more in the winter. I can never see the point in changing the clocks.
Hi Judy, thanks for the visit, it was an unexpected day out and laughter was the order of the day.
It was sea life at it's best and a good time was had by all.
Take care and have a pleasant day.
Yvonne.
No, you are definitely not alone in this, Judy. The older I get, the harder it becomes to adjust to the time change, though I'd have to say the spring change, when we lose an hour, is more difficult for me.
And, by the way, that was a funny post! :-)
I have a harder time adjusting in the spring. I wish someone would tell our pets the time has changed. They don't seem to go by what the clock says.
Judy
Quick! Get out and vote again!
June in Oz
I'm with you, Judy. We were tired last night and almost started for bed...My hubby said,"Lord, it's only 8pm!" I've been watching the returns on TV tonight... and came in here to wake up. Thanks for the jolly music.
The older I get, the harder it is to adjust to most changes, including the time. I wish they would put it to one setting and just leave it that way. I do have a harder time in the spring than the fall as I like my sleep, and it is easier for me to add an hour than take it away!
Judy,
Congratulations on the Obama win ! The music on your site reflects the optimism that pervades....
Judy,
Thanks for the comment back! Jennifer doesn't have a blog. And the voting building is actually on the opposite end of Carpenter's Creek road (same road as the wildlife refuge on the fork), but on the other side of Butchertown at the "t" where Gorden's Lick comes out of Maxey's Valley and just before connecting to Carter's Schoolhouse road. I guess you might say it's on the other side of Sand Knob. Don't know if you knew these places or not, sorry for rambling on about it! I took the photo so I could do a painting of it.

LOL....are you kidding....my sleep was screwed up before time change, and now, I'm really mixed up..... at 6 oclock it's pitch dark, and I'm yawning....
I have spent every spare minute on my computer, because something is goofy and won't let me update flash....I can't put in pictures, and I wanted to share my granddaughters birthday halloween party, and it won't work....so I just haven't written anything... Craft show is Sat. so as soon as that is done, I have to try and figure it out.....I probably deleted somebody's cookie....LOL.. well hope your well, going out to dinner with my widows group tonight....to Outback Steakhouse.....only 8 are going this month..... judy to judy.....
I hate the time changing. Now is the real time and am truly happy when we go to Mexico and they don't do daylight savings time. It doesn't save anything, because we use it in the morning. And this year it lasted longer than ever.
I've missed some of your posts lately because we have been so busy. Maybe I'll get back on track now. Love that you are already getting ready for Thanksgiving with recipes and such.
I hate the time change!!!
I am an early riser...always have been. I used to get up at 5:00 regularly...to have some quiet time alone. Now I have trouble staying in bed until 5:00.
This time change is harder to adjust to then the "Spring Ahead", because it gets dark too early. I have had a hard time adjusting. Thanks for coming by.
Oh! Thanks for reminding me. The clock in my car is now the correct time. :) I just adjust myself when the time changes since I can never remember how to adjust the darned clock.
No, you are definitely not the only one! It's dark here at 4:30 PM and from one time change to the other, I too, forget how to reset my digital clock! Thank goodness the computer resets itself. Ah, well, spring will come again! I hope! in Seattle it's sometimes hard to tell since it frequently rains nine months out of the year!
Hi, Judy,
With all the other comments, you probably won't even notice mine, but that is okay. My biggest problem is that Gramps thinks it is bedtime around 6 p.m. and gets ready to take his choppers out and put them inot his "tooth cup". I am having to tell him that we haven't had supper yet. ha.
We have quite a few clocks as well. We even have one in the bathroom. Bye for now.
Love to you
ruby (aka Grammy)
First, I must say that Thomas Wyatt was the cutest little lion ever!! What an adorable costume for an adorable boy!!!! I'm sure he had so much fun.
Funny post about the time change.
My parents really like clocks, so they have to go through the time change ritual. I don't have as many clocks to change, but I did let the oven clock stay unchanged for about three days. Pure laziness.
:-)
I didn't have anything to blog about yesterday.....Wait until you see my post today!
You haven't written a post in about a week now, starting to really worry about your daylight savings adjustment!! (lol)....
Are you just taking a blogging break? I Miss reading your blog!
I still hate thetime change, but finally had time to come back and read the institution post. That really was eeirie and pretty spooky. Sad, too that tb caused so much grief before antibiotics and will again because of the idiots who don't finish their rxs and now there is a drug resistant form of the disease. What sadness that will wreak on families again.
found you thru Ernestine's blog..hope you feel better soon....
maybe since everyone is strapped for cash that the holidays will not be so
"spendy" and get back to more simple times...
That's amazing, I had no idea it was Benjamin Franklin who said that. I was brought up in Australia and it was as much a part of my childhood 40 yrs ago as anything else was...it's still one that sticks in my brain, and you know what? I go to bed early and i rise early :)
