COFFEE IN THE MORNING!

Are you one of those people that can't function until you have your morning coffee?

I am not much of a coffee drinker. Usually, I will have a cup with Bob in the mornings but if he is not here, I don't even make coffee.

I like the international coffees that come in those little tin containers and taste more like hot chocolate than coffee.

Bob has to have at least two cups of coffee in the morning in order to get his day started.

I don't do well with caffeine either. A cup of coffee with caffeine will really wake me up. If I drink anything with caffeine during the day, I stay up all night.

I love coffee mugs and cups and pick them up anytime I see an unusual or different one.

I used to know people when I still worked that drank coffee all day.

Did you know that special studies conducted about the human body revealed it will usually absorb up to about 300 milligrams of caffeine at a given time. About 4 normal cups. Additional amounts are just cast off, providing no further stimulation. Also, the human body dissipates 20% of the caffeine in the system each hour.

Here's a little joke about coffee: A Grandmother was surprised by her 7-year old grandson one morning. He had made her coffee! She drank what was the worst cup of coffee in her life. When she got to the bottom, there were three of those little green army men in her cup. Puzzled, she asked, "Honey, what are the army men doing in my coffee?"
Her grandson answered, "Grandma, it says on TV, the best part of waking up is soldiers in your cup."

Here's how to tell if you are a caffeine addict.

You might be a caffeine addict if :

You think sleep is for the weak.

Your heart beats noticeably faster as a reaction to the smell of coffee.

Your child's name is Nescafe.

You go to sleep just to wake up and smell the coffee.

Your coffee pot is next to your bed and your alarm clock is in the kitchen.

You suck on a used coffee filter whenever the can runs out of coffee.

I love to serve coffee to my friends and family along with some kind of great dessert. You can find a great holiday coffee recipe on my recipe blog: Recipes From A Southern Country Cook.

A cup of coffee shared with a friend is happiness tasted and time well spent.

Are you a coffee addict or do you not drink coffee?

Hey Judy! Unfortunately I'm a caffeine addict! I drink Diet Coke all day and night! I need my caffeine and it really doesn't keep me from sleeping (other things do, but that's another story, sore arm and hand) but other than that I usually have a can or Big Gulp always traveling with me!! oh well, I'm glad you're not dependent upon caffeine! This was another Fun post!

No, I'm not a coffee drinker, love my tea -- iced or hot and I love hot chocolate, don't drink soft drinks, diet or otherwise so guess I'm not dependent on caffeine either. You always have fun posts and I do enjoy them!

I drink more tea then coffee. I only started drinking coffee a few months ago. It helps my plumbing. And, like you, when Bob is gone, I don't even fix it at all.

I must have a cup of coffee in the morning and it must have some Coffee Mate Original in it. Recently I've been going through something that makes coffee taste terrible and that was a sad time. It is better now and I'm back to my cup in the morning. However, while going through the rough patch a diet coke was my drink of choice and while we were in Galveston iced tea was good in the morning. It was still warm down there.

Are those cups from that factory I need to get to Kentucky to see and buy some of their wares?

I am a diet coke addict myself. But, I am also a sup collector, ceramic mugs, antique cups and saucers. Some probably as old as me....

Judy, I do not drink coffee very often. Too much trouble to prepare for one. I have green tea every morning. Now if I have company I like making coffee. I can remember growing up and smelling it in the morning. I love the smell of coffee perking in the early morning. Like you I do not sleep if I have coffee later in the day.

Judy, I must confess...I have a serious coffee addiction. Gotta have my 100% Columbian first thing in the morning. But later in the day, at least in the winter, I prefer cocoa or hot tea.

I love your new Christmas theme, especially the picture of that cutie, Thomas Wyatt! I know you must be looking forward to seeing his reaction to Santa Claus this year!

But I do enjoy a hot chocolate made with milk just before bedtime.
Enjoyed the blog as usual. Take care.

Judy,
I love coffee, but do not drink as much as I did 56 years ago, when I didn't know any better. In fact, I began drinking coffee as an infant. My mom would put a biscuit in a saucer of coffee. It would get soft and she would feed it to her babies. It was called soakey. I reckon you could say all those in my family have had coffee almost since birth. Now I only have a cup after my breakfast cereal or if we have some kind of dessert later in the day. I love hot tea as well, but that is a story for another day.
Happy December!

Not much of a coffee drinker. Never liked the bitter taste. Then I discovered Barley tea. Tastes very much like coffee. Seems I am acquiring a taste. It must be decaffeinated though as does my diet coke which is my real drink addiction.

I have never been able to like coffee. I do however get my caffeine from a Dr Pepper on ice or a tall glass of iced tea. It must be inherited because neither of my kids drink coffee either. Some of those big coffee cups make great soup mugs also.

Hi Judy, I have one cup of coffee in the morning. I have always had black coffee but the last few weeks I have had cream and sugar. Tastes pretty good. Oh, I made your raw apple cake for Thanksgiving. It was soooooo good!

Soldiers in your cup -- that's funny!!

I don't like the taste of coffee and neither does my hubby. I drink tea though, and I can drink coffee if it has LOTS of cream and sugar in it and tastes like a melted Sugar Daddy.
:-)

I made your Duncan Hines Pineapple Cake for Thanksgiving, and three pies too, also. That recipe is so tasty!

Hi Judy! I'm a tea drinker. I did drink coffee back when I was a teen- working outdoors in winter wearing shorts (it was a requirement). It was so cold that anything hot was enjoyable.

Strange thing though- I make cheesecakes and my favorite recipe is one I have for Tiramisu Cheesecake.

Hey Mom,

I am not a huge coffee drinker. I dont have to have it everyday. It depends on the company and the moment if I want a cup.

Love you!

Anne

I am also a tea drinker, although I have been known to have a cup of coffee once in a while. I love your mugs and your humor about coffee addicts. Thank you for coming by.

I am not a coffee addict. Just because I will get headaches if I don't have it doesn't mean I am physically dependent on it. Just because I must have two cups immendiately upon wakening and then another cup as soon as I get to work doesn't mean it's a habit. Just because I will chew your head off if I don't have my coffee in the morning... oh, ok, I am addicted to coffee.

I don't like coffee at all. My mom once told me it was an acquired taste, and I never bothered to cultivate that taste. I do like my caffeine, but I have to have it before 8 at night, or I can't sleep, either. I drink Diet Dr. Pepper to get all the caffeine I need. I also love hot chocolate on a winter morning.

I actually love the smell of coffee more than the coffee. Then I have a single cup with lots of milk for breakfast. Then tea in the afternoon. Not much of a tea-cofee drinker.

(We are actually a nation of tea/chai drinkers, with a special thing called decoction coffee being drunk in the south. Both are wonderful. But these days a lot of people feel very glamorous when they go to Cafe Coffee Day (our version of Starbucks)....:-)

I usually make two 8 cup pots a day. some days I drink it all, and some only a cup or two, depending if i go out to breakfast...which means I'm dancing on the table by night fall....but never have trouble falling to sleep, just staying asleep all night....I love flavored coffee, and starbucks. , but MacDonalds is the worst coffee I have ever tried....like the cap, or latte......I have a Sanka cup, setting on a Sanka coffee tin... do you remember Sanka coffee, it was all my mother ever drank....so after she was gone, I found that they still sell it, and bought a small instant jar....oh my gosh, how in the world did she ever drink that.....well, I'm back, and I'm still rambling on....so going to go to neighbor night now, and I'll catch your other posts tomorrow....have a good evening... judy
